Three-Star DT Ted Gregoire Hoping to Visit Virginia Tech This Month

VT Cadets VT Flag 1 1

Virginia Tech's defensive tackle recruiting board has been one of the biggest mysteries outside of Northern Virginia standout Elijah Hughes. Another one of Tech's potential targets is three-star DT Ted Gregoire from Jersey City, NJ.

Gregoire told us that he is looking to visit Virginia Tech on "hopefully the 27th (of July)" in what would be his first visit to Blacksburg. He had this to say about what he is hoping to see on his first visit to Blacksburg.

"If I can see myself there and how life is over there," Gregoire said.

This comes as Tech has been showing lots of interest in Gregoire led by grad assistant Korey Rush who primarily focuses on the defensive line coaching alongside DL coach J.C. Price.

Gregoire told us that he has had "good" conversations with Rush as they are "just building a relationship" as Rush "checks in on me every week." Gregoire also described Tech's outreach led by Rush as "good interest" in him from the Hokies as it's clear that VT is heavily looking into an offer.

Gregoire is an intriguing prospect who hasn't received a Virginia Tech offer yet, but has received some other quality offers including ones from Rutgers, Vanderbilt, Syracuse, Temple, Tulane, Old Dominion, Army, Akron, Rice, Kent State, UMASS, Harvard, Yale and more.

In-state Rutgers is the biggest school to watch here currently in his recruitment as the Scarlet Knights hosted him on an official visit on the second weekend of June.

All of this interest shouldn't come as a surprise as Gregoire is an intriguing DT recruit who has great size at 6'6'' and 275 pounds which is impressive size to say the least. He also gave us insights into his strengths which he stated were "his speed, hands, and power."

Looking ahead, Gregoire told us that he is looking to make a decision "before my senior season" so with that in my mind, we should have a good picture as to whether Tech will try to get involved in his recruitment or not in the next couple of weeks.

Keep an eye on Ted Gregoire as the Hokies continue to evaluate intriguing defensive tackle prospects.
