Virginia Tech landed their first commitment of the 2023 cycle, the first full recruiting cycle of the Brent Pry era, as three-star OL Lance Williams committed to the Hokies this evening.
Williams chose the Hokies over other offers from Cincinnati, South Carolina, Kentucky, Purdue, Georgia Tech, West Virginia, Kansas, Memphis, Appalachian State, Tulane, Eastern Kentucky, and Newberry. Williams also becomes the first Tennessee native to commit to Virginia Tech since the arrival of Brent Pry.
It didn't take long for Williams to become one of Tech's top interior offensive line targets with both sides making each other a priority. While defending CFB Playoff team Cincinnati made a strong run at Williams along with others, Tech had the edge in the end in what is a solid, first recruiting win for VT OL coach Joe Rudolph in the 2023 cycle.
