Virginia Tech's 2026 class finally has a quarterback again as the Hokies have landed a commitment from three-star Cole Bergeron out of Lafayette, Louisiana.

The 6'4'' Bergeron chose the Hokies over top contenders Georgia Tech and Colorado plus other offers from Indiana, UCLA, Florida Atlantic, Louisiana, Georgia Southern, and Arkansas State. He is the tenth commit for the Hokies in this class including the only QB and first commit from Louisiana.
247 Sports ranks Bergeron as the 27th best QB in the 2026 class while ESPN ranks him 33rd and Rivals ranks him 44th.
Bergeron visited the Hokies in June, which included working out for offensive coordinator Philip Montgomery and the staff. Since then, Bergeron became the Hokies' top quarterback target with Virginia Tech not even needing a fall official visit to seal the deal even as Georgia Tech and Colorado were also interested.
With Bergeron on board, the Hokies appear to be set at quarterback for the 2026 class, with the focus shifting to future classes at QB. 2027 is also in a good spot following the commitment of three-star QB Ben Musser out of Georgia last week.
We will have more as this story develops.
