McLaughlin made history during his time in Blackaburg becoming the first true freshman to start for the Hokies at left tackle during the 2013 season. He was a steady constant on the left side of the Hokies' offensive line starting 49 games during his time in Blacksburg and emerging as one of the best offensive tackles VT had in the 2010s.
