Brent Pry is set to have his first big official visit weekend as head coach of Virginia Tech with the Hokies hosting many of their commits this weekend. However, Tech will also host some players that are uncommitted or committed elsewhere including one of the best offensive lineman in Virginia.
Three-star OL and UVA commit Brody Meadows has told us that he will be taking an official visit to Virginia Tech starting on Saturday after his Graham HS competes in the VHSL 2A State Championship in Salem, Virginia at noon on Saturday.
For those who may be wondering whether Meadows has a Virginia Tech offer, he told us that he received an offer from the Hokies "three days ago" which would be this past Tuesday, and had this to say about his reaction to receiving one.
"I was excited. Always grateful for coaches believing in me and seeing the potential I would bring," Meadows said.
With Jakson LaHue decommitting earlier this week, Tech is clearly looking to land at least one more offensive lineman and Meadows has emerged as the clear priority target for the Hokies to fill that spot. Meadows is a big time talent that is a top 18 in-state recruit by all the major recruiting rankings and is a top 40 offensive tackle in the country by most.
His official visit will also be a little unique given that he will be arriving early Saturday evening after the state championship game in nearby Salem. While he may be coming on campus midway through the official visit weekend, the fact that he is coming is great news for the Hokies and also proves how big of a priority that Meadows is to the new staff.
Brody Meadows may be a UVA commit still for now, but Virginia Tech is ready to go all out to flip Meadows to the Hokies while Virginia scrambles to find a new head coach.
