While the focus is on the Class of 2024 on the recruiting trail, some top targets for the 2025 cycle have already emerged. One of those is 2025 four-star DB Faheem Delane, the brother of VT standout DB Mansoor Delane.

Tech has a reputation of brothers playing in Blacksburg from the Fullers to the Edmunds to many, many more. Early on, the Hokies are right in the hunt to add the Delane family to that legacy.

Faheem Delane told us that Virginia Tech is among four schools currently standing out for him along with Alabama, Ohio State, and Florida State. The Olney, MD recruit had this to say about why the Hokies are currently standing out for him.

"The family vibe I get from being there, and I love the atmosphere at Lane Stadium," Delane said. "Virginia Tech fans are second to none and I also like that (head) coach (Brent) Pry is a defensive head coach."

Of course, part of the appeal is potentially being able to play alongside his brother though Faheem is hoping that Mansoor keeps playing well enough to where he's entering the NFL Draft as a high draft pick right before Faheem would arrive.

"Hopefully he is a 3 year and out. but definitely would want to play with my brother. He always tells me good things about the coaches and environment," Faheem Delane said.

He told us that the VT coaches he currently is closest with are head coach Brent Pry and safeties coach Pierson Prioleau. He had this to say about his relationship with Pry.

"It's great. He's always showing love and telling me what VT has to offer," Delane said.

He had this to say about his relationship with Prioleau.

"It’s great. He always explains how I can fit in the defense and how I would benefit the defense with my versatility," Delane said.

All of this comes after Delane had a very promising sophomore season leading his high school team in tackles and forced fumbles while also adding an interception and "6 or 7" pass breakups.

Looking ahead, Delane had this to say about his current spring visit plans.

"First weekend of March, I'm going to Florida and Florida State. Then later in the spring, I'm probably going to Virginia Tech, Alabama, and Ohio State," Delane said.

The Hokies are right in the hunt early on for one of the top players in the 2025 class, four-star DB Faheem Delane, hoping he'll build a family legacy in Blacksburg with his current VT star DB brother Mansoor Delane.
