Virginia Tech Among Trio of Current Favorites for Three-Star DE Jordan Boyd

Jordan Boyd VT BC 2022

Three-star DE Jordan Boyd is one of Virginia Tech's top edge targets for the 2024 class with the Hokies in a good position currently his recruitment as he shared when asked about which schools are currently standing out in his recruitment.

"Well I do really like Wake Forest and Georgia Tech was a childhood favorite of mine. Virginia tech is still a favorite being they were my first offer and they have a great engineering program," Boyd said. "Though I’m still very i interested in all the schools who have offered as I need to take some visits to get to know all of them better."

Why is VT right there as one of Boyd's three favorites currently?

"VT is on par with the other favorites, because I’d like to go to school for engineering. I'm looking heavily into all schools with great engineering programs," Boyd said.

Defensive line coach JC Price and recruiting assistant Lino Lupinetti are leading Tech's recruitment of Boyd. He had this to say about how his relationship is with Price.

"It's good. He’s a great man and I could learn a lot from him," Boyd said.

It shouldn't come as a surprise that Boyd has the interest he has after having a great junior season for Silver Bluff HS in Aiken, SC with 92 tackles including 23 for loss with 10 sacks plus 23 QB hurries and 3 forced fumbles.

So what makes Boyd a talented prospect? He had this to say about the strengths and weaknesses of his game.

"Well I would say for some strengths, I’m pretty quick off the ball, and I can use my length as well as speed to catch offensive linemen off balance or out of position. I guess i would say one of my weaknesses would be my aggression, sometimes being overly aggressive can get me in trouble," Boyd said.

Looking ahead, Boyd took a visit this past weekend to Georgia Tech and will take a trip to Virginia Tech on January 23rd for their first of 2 big junior days before making a trip to Wake Forest later this month.

It's an ACC recruiting battle currently for three-star DE Jordan Boyd with the Hokies right in the hunt.
