Once again, it is time for your weekly Virginia Tech Baseball resume analysis. Unfortunately for the Hokies, who have lost four consecutive ACC series', going 2-10 in conference in that time frame, things are looking bleak.
In almost every regional projection that I've seen, the Hokies are on the wrong side of the bubble ranging from the third to the seventh team out.
D1Baseball: sixth team out
Baseball America : sixth team out
On3: third team out
Bubble Resumes
The typical resume for the right side of the bubble can change from year to year. Generally, though, you want to be top 45 in the RPI.
KPI is an unknown, this is the first year that the committee is taking KPI into consideration, but you have to assume it'll be a relatively similar standard.

Notre Dame is currently the ACC team listed closest to the bubble, being the fourth team out. Virginia Tech currently has a series win over Notre Dame, which the committee will factor in if they both remain close. Virginia Tech does need Notre Dame to stay close to the bubble, because their series win was on the road, making Notre Dame 2 Q1 wins.
What do the Hokies Need to Do?
Coming into today, the Hokies have six games remaining
Those six matchups include two against Mercer, one against Marshall, and three against UVA. The Hokies will need to win five of those at minimum to feel decent about their chances and momentum as they make the trip to Durham.
Last time Virginia Tech and UVA matched up in English Field, the Hokies took down the fifth ranked Cavaliers.
The Hokies will have a chance to prove that they deserve to make it. If they want to, they absolutely need to make these last six games count.
