Virginia Tech OL coach Joe Rudolph is known for not only offering only a few offensive linemen every cycle, but landing those few offers he sends out at a high rate. So far this cycle, Virginia Tech has only sent out 14 offers to offensive linemen according to 247 Sports.

One of those offers went to Anthonie Knapp out of Roswell, GA with the Hokies already in a good spot in his recruitment.

Knapp told us that Virginia Tech is currently the leader in his recruitment adding that Duke is also "up there" currently. He had this to say about why the Hokies are currently standing out for him as his leader.

"Because I am very fond of the coaching staff," Knapp said.. "They are currently high on my list because they are the first power 5 school to take a shot at me and I love the atmosphere every time I attend."

Knapp has built up a solid offer list so far that includes the Hokies, Duke, Georgia Tech, Tulane, and more with the GA standout adding that he has been receiving interest from Wake Forest and Penn State.

As you might expect, Joe Rudolph is leading the charge for the Hokies in their pursuit of Knapp who had this to say about his relationship with Rudolph.

"I think coach Rudolph is a great coach and we have a good relationship. He always stays in touch and makes sure to talk often," Knapp said.

Grad assistant Austin Fields, who also works heavily with the offensive line, is also involved in Tech's recruitment of Knapp. He had this to say about his relationship with Fields.

"Coach Fields has been around ever since Virginia Tech started talking to me, and he has always made sure to reach out to me. I would say we have solid relationship," Knapp said.

Looking ahead, Knapp told us that he is currently planning to visit Virginia Tech for their second of two upcoming Junior Days on January 28th on what is setting up to be a loaded Saturday of visitors. Beyond that, he's looking to take more visits this spring while adding this on what his current timeline is for making a decision.

"Currently, I only have an estimated timeline for making my decision which is summer before the start of my senior year, but the same time, I have not put much thought into committing to a school yet because I have been very focused on training and grinding for what I believe will be a very special senior year," Knapp said.

The Hokies are in a strong position currently for Anthonie Knapp with Tech having a chance to further cement their status in the lead of Knapp's recruitment later this month.
