The college sports world was rocked by multiple court rulings on Friday that gave athletes who just ran out of eligibility in the 2022 class an additional year if they meet the new 5-in-5 eligibility requirements. This ruling applied to any college athlete who played four years and didn't use a redshirt during that time, creating a new influx of transfer-eligible talent even for fall sports like football that are opening fall camps and approaching the start of their season.
One standout defensive transfer who was an all-conference player at the FBS level last year is drawing lots of Power 4 interest including some from Virginia Tech.
