Incredible how Virginia Tech has turned it around https://t.co/CEHpoQXV9M
The Hokies are ranked for the first time this season coming in at #25 in this week's AP Poll. Virginia Tech was also nearly ranked in the Coaches Poll coming one point short of earning a spot in that ranking.
This is the first time that Virginia Tech has been ranked in the AP top 25 since last year's loss to Notre Dame when the Hokies were ranked 24th entering that game. This is the longest drought for the Hokies being outside of the top 25 during the Justin Fuente era.
The turnaround that Virginia Tech has had is simply incredible since their 45-10 loss to Duke with a 5-1 record over their past 6 games, and the lone loss coming by a single point at Notre Dame without starting QB Hendon Hooker.
Virginia Tech's first game back in the top 25 will come against Pittsburgh this Saturday in Lane Stadium. Kickoff was announced today for 3:30pm with the game being broadcast on ESPN2. If the Hokies win, it will set up an ACC Coastal Championship game on Black Friday being the Hokies and Virginia in Charlottesville.
