Virginia Tech is set for their first summer official visit weekend of the James Franklin era with a loaded group of recruits set to visit campus this weekend. This group is headlined by some of the best recruits in Virginia plus several commits along with a lots of other targets.
Four-star DE Chris Whitehead out of Richmond is the headline name this weekend. The four-star recruit from Richmond is the consensus #1 overall recruit in Virginia and top 50 overall recruit nationally. Whitehead previously took an official visit to LSU and has official visits to Georgia, South Carolina, and Ohio State in that order after this official visit per 247 Sports. VT is clearly a contender and if they beat out this competition to land Whitehead, it would be the largest recruiting victory for the Hokies since in well over a decade.
