The first week of October for three-star DE Antwaun Powell started with him receiving an offer from Virginia Tech and ended with him visiting Blacksburg this weekend.
Powell told us that the Hokies have a "very high" standing in his recruitment after a "very good" visit that he "enjoyed every bit of." Powell also added that "I didn't see anything I didn't like."
What stood out to him on his visit?
"The (Hokie) fan base was crazy," Powell said.
After the game, Powell had a "good" conversation with DL coach Charley Wiles who shared his excitement to see Powell in Blacksburg and broke down the game with him.
While the Hokies are in "very high" standing in his recruitment, Powell also added that Pittsburgh is also standing out in his recruitment and recruiting him the hardest though the Panthers have also been involved in Powell's recruitment a lot longer than the Hokies.
Next week, Powell will once again see the Hokies play as he takes an unofficial visit to North Carolina followed by a trip to South Carolina two weeks later. In addition, Powell hopes to make a return trip to Blacksburg this fall though he doesn't have a current date for a potential visit.
Over the past week, Virginia Tech has made it clear that they are quite interested in 2020 three-star DE Antwaun Powell and are gaining plenty of traction with the talented 757 lineman.
