Brent Pry continues to fill out the key positions on his off-the-field football staff with the Hokies poaching their new Director of On-Campus Recruiting from an ACC rival who also has deep Blacksburg roots.
A huge thank you to Wake Forest for the opportunity to work with such an amazing staff this past year. With that being said…THIS IS HOME!! So excited and thankful to be back in Blacksburg and joining Coach Pry’s staff as the Director of On-Campus Recruiting. GO HOKIES! pic.twitter.com/IMLERvbxhH

Wake Forest's Director of On-Campus Recruiting Jalyn Ballein tweeted out last night that she will be the Hokies' next Director of On-Campus Recruiting. Ballein joined Wake Forest in May of last year after spending the 2020 season and part of the 2021 offseason in the same capacity at Georgia Southern.
Her time at Wake Forest saw Ballein help assemble the highest-rated recruiting class for Wake Forest of the Clawson era in the 2022 class based on the average recruit rating according to the 247 Sports Composite. At Georgia Southern, she played a role in helping the Eagles land their first top 100 ranked class by 247 Sports in the 2021 cycle at 93rd since 2018 when the Eagles ranked 90th nationally.
It's also a homecoming for Jalyn Ballein who is the daughter of the well-known John Ballein who was Frank Beamer's right hand man managing the program off-the-field while ascending into the Executive Associate Director of Athletics role since Beamer's retirement. Her mother Stephanie is also the chief of staff for Mike Young's men's basketball program.
Jalyn Ballein has proven to be quite good at her craft ascending the ranks rapidly while boosting recruiting both at Georgia Southern and Wake Forest prior to her homecoming at Virginia Tech, a place she knows as well as any Power 5 program in America.
