Virginia Tech enters a pivotal two-game stretch that will decide the winner of the ACC Coastal starting with a home showdown against Pittsburgh. The Hokies have been playing extremely well to say the least winning 5 of their last 6 games and going undefeated (5-0) in games started by Hendon Hooker. They'll be facing a good Pitt team though with a strong defense and an offense that can make some things happen with the winner likely top 25 bound next week in the CFB Playoff rankings.
Additionally, this is also setting up to be a big weekend off the field for the Hokies hosting an impressive group of talented recruits for this game in the 2020 and 2021 classes.
Three-star CB Tee Denson has emerged as a top target for Virginia Tech in the 2020 class and will be making his first visit to Blacksburg since decommitting from Pittsburgh. Three-star RB commits Jordan Brunson and Jalen Hampton will also be on campus. VT will also be hosting multiple unordered 2020 recruits with the most notable being three-star OT Jackson Stoefen from Iowa, a former Kansas commit.
The 2021 class has a pair of heavy hitters who have already publicly stated their plans to visit VT this weekend in four-star OT Wyatt Milum and four-star RB Brandon Campbell. Milum recently included VT in his top 6 while Campbell has some family connections to SWVA and could add on to the #TX2VT movement that Dematrius Davis has really launched.
