Virginia Tech made the top 3 for one of their priority interior OL targets, three-star Jake Wheelock out of Dayton, Ohio.

The Hokies were joined by Cincinnati and Duke ahead of his commitment on April 1st. He had this to say about why the Hokies made his top 3.
"They have been with me since the start. I believe the program is only going up from here! The culture, coaches and environment is amazing at VT. It’s just a phenomenal program!" Wheelock said.
Now there has been some change of late for the Hokies at OL coach with Joe Rudolph leaving for Notre Dame and being replaced by Ron Crook. While some may have some concerns that the change will have a significant negative impact, Wheelock's comments make it clear that Crook has kept Tech right in the hunt.
"He is awesome! He is more of a teacher than a Coach in my eyes. I was also the first recruit to talk to him in his office which was pretty special," Wheelock said.
So yeah, those concerns about the change having a significant negative impact appear to be simply false.
So why did the other two schools make the cut? Here's what he said about Cincinnati making his top 3.
"Cincinnati has been with me for a very long time. Once the new staff came in though, they instantly got on me. They clearly really want me and they aren’t far from home," Wheelock said.
Here's what he said about Duke making his top 3.
"Their education is top tier and the campus is beautiful. The program is on the up and up, and I see them being a top contender real soon," Wheelock said.
There's no doubt that this is setting up to be a close battle with the Hokies and Cincinnati seeming like the slight favorites compared to Duke. So with that said, what will be the key factors in making his decision.
"Potential to win and potential to play are key factors as well as my relationships with the coaches," Wheelock said.
