The Hokies were joined by Georgia, Miami, Penn State, Tennessee, and USC with a decision set to come on September 10th. Cole has taken official visits to Georgia, Miami, and Penn State in addition to VT while he visited Tennessee in late July. Among his numerous other notable offers to miss the cut for Cole include Alabama, Notre Dame, Florida State, Texas A&M, Florida, Nebraska, Arkansas, Louisville, Auburn, Duke, West Virginia, Stanford, and more.
The Hokies made a big move in the late spring to become a serious contender for Cole as his recruitment took off more and more. The Hokies were then able to snag an official visit over a school like Notre Dame which said a lot about Cole's interest in the Hokies to turn down a free trip to South Bend for a free trip to a school less than an hour away.
Currently, Georgia seems like the favorite especially after the Bulldogs lost a commitment from five-star LB Demarcus Riddick who flipped to Auburn. I've been hearing that the Bulldogs have made a move and am still digging as I don't feel good enough about a Cole prediction yet even with the Bulldogs trending.
For the Hokies, the September 10th decision date does open a window for the Hokies to try to get him back on campus for one of their first two home games of the fall to make one final push to try to land Cole. Regardless of where Cole ends up, there's no doubt that the Hokies' coaching staff have done just about everything they can to try to land his commitment.
