Virginia Tech Makes The Top 9 For Four-Star OL Antonio Tripp Jr

VT Cadets VT Flag 1

While Virginia Tech's primary focus has been on the recruits they are hosting this weekend in Blacksburg, they also received some good news from one of their top offensive line targets, four-star OL Antonio Tripp Jr out of the McDonogh School in Maryland.

Virginia Tech made the top 9 for Tripp along with Michigan, Penn State, Michigan State, Miami, South Carolina, Maryland, Louisville, and West Virginia. He had this to say about why the Hokies made the top 9 for him.

"I’ve always had love for Virginia Tech and especially now with the new coaching staff, I’m extremely excited to see how they do and Especially with one of the best O-Line coaches in the country in coach (Joe) Rudolph," Tripp said.

Tripp also told us that he is "without a doubt" hoping to visit Virginia Tech in the near future while he also has plans to visit Miami on March 5th. This comes after he took visits to Penn State, South Carolina, West Virginia, and in-state Maryland during January.

When Tripp does visit Blacksburg, it will be his first visit to VT, and he has a good idea of what he's hoping to see during his visit.

"Honestly a “home”, that’s what I’m looking for," Tripp said.

Tripp also had this to say about why the other eight schools in general made his top 9 with this being similar to why Virginia Tech made the cut.

"Genuine relationships and/or high interest in the program," Tripp said.

Virginia Tech has gotten off to a strong start in their recruitment of talented four-star OL Antonio Tripp Jr who is poised to be a priority OL target. The next objective for the Hokies will be to get him on campus this spring to become a more serious contender in his recruitment.
