Virginia Tech is looking to add another offensive lineman to their 2021 class and they're looking to Texas in their pursuit of doing that, offering fast-rising offensive lineman Remington Strickland.
After a great talk with Coach Vice, I’m extremely excited and blessed to receive an offer from THE Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University!! 🦃 #HardHatMentality pic.twitter.com/MGE4YYSncB

Strickland had this to say about his reaction to the Hokies offering him.
"I was really excited about VT. I’m a big fan of the traditions there and love the Enter Sandman entrance," Strickland said.
Strickland received the offer during a conversation he was having with offensive line coach Vance Vice and recruiting assistant Beau Davidson, a Texan like Strickland who has been valuable in getting the Hokies connected with Texas recruits like Strickland and others.
Strickland said that his conversation with Vice and Davidson was quite good as a whole as he described to us.
"He said he loved my tape and he talked about how he likes nasty OLineman," Strickland said.
Remington Strickland did say that he been hearing from Beau Davidson on multiple occasions prior to receiving an offer from the Hokies. This comes as the Texan lineman has seen his recruitment take off with Oklahoma and Michigan also offering him in recent weeks.
So how does this offer impact his recruitment and where VT stands in it?
"VT is definitely high on my list now and I will continue to look into them," Strickland said.
Strickland also said that the Hokies are among six standing out for him along with fellow recent offers Oklahoma and Michigan plus Memphis, Houston, and SMU. He had this to say about why the Hokies are "high" on his list.
"They put out a lot of NFL talent every year and have a great engineering school," Strickland said.
The Hokies have built in-roads with recruiting the state of Texas turning what was once taboo into what seems to be normal with the Hokies landing DEs Alec Bryant and Robert Wooten last cycle, and currently holding commitments from 3* OL Canon Boone and 3* WR Da'Wain Lofton from the Lonestar State. While going against Oklahoma will be a challenge for the Hokies, Tech definitely has a legitimate chance in their pursuit of Strickland.
The Hokies are all in on Remington Strickland as one of their top remaining targets in the 2021 class.
