Virginia Tech had their third outright scholarship transfer portal entry of the week today as Hokies' OL Bryce Goodner entered the transfer portal which he announced on Twitter.
I’d like to thank God, my family, my friends, and my coaches for supporting me. Having said that, I’d like to announce that I’ll be entering the transfer portal pic.twitter.com/AScSK6WQSr

Goodner leaves after only being in Blacksburg for a year, but simply not finding his footing with the Hokies. He spent some time at defensive tackle as well this spring but whether at DT or OL, Goodner simply wasn't able to find his spot under the new Virginia Tech staff.
He leaves Blacksburg with four years of eligibility remaining and does so days before the May 1st deadline to be eligible to play immediately without having to request a waiver.
Goodner's departures appears to get the Hokies right to the 85 scholarship mark which includes incoming Nebraska DE/LB transfer Pheldarius Payne.
We will have more as this story develops.
