Virginia Tech has had their first transfer portal entry of the post-Justin Fuente era and technically start of the Brent Pry era as quarterback Knox Kadum has entered the transfer portal.
#Hokies QB Knox Kadum has put his name in the transfer portal, @TheAthletic has learned. Served as a backup the last few years. Was 16-for-30 for 219 yards in his career. Originally was a JMU commit before flipping to VT.

Kadum appeared in five games during his career including most infamously for one play in the first half inside the 10 against Richmond along with an emergerncy apperance against Clemson last year and filling in for Braxton Burmeister against Boston College. During his Tech career, Kadum was 16-30 passing for 219 yards and 1 interception while running for 41 yards.
Kadum showed some promise during his time in Blacksburg as a more traditional pocket passer, but also doesn't have the ceiling that some of Tech's younger QBs have. Combine that with a new head coach and it makes sense for Kadum to move on likely to a Group of 5 or FCS program.
This also opens up another scholarship with Tech likely needing plenty more to take on their large class plus the high odds that they look to add multiple transfers this offseason as well with a new head coach.
We will have more as this story develops.
