The Virginia Tech Hokies unveiled their “Orange Effect” themed jerseys on Wednesday for the season opening matchup against #10 North Carolina.
Junior nickelback Chamarri Conner, who will be wearing the No. 25 jersey against the Tar Heels, posed in the uniform for the Virginia Tech Football social media release. Connor has been a familiar name to wear the No. 25 jersey for the Hokies, having done so against Wake Forest in 2020 and North Carolina in 2018.
The uniform does live up to the theme, as the Hokies are going with an orange jersey and orange pants.
The Hokies are repping a white helmet with the jersey, where a maroon Virginia Tech logo will be placed on both sides. In addition to the majority of the orange coloring on the jersey, the numbering and lettering for Virginia Tech is white.
When Virginia Tech hosted North Carolina in an Orange Effect game back in 2017, the Hokies went with a uniform featuring orange jerseys and then routed the Tar Heels 59-7. The 52-point margin of victory was the largest for Virginia Tech in the 2017 season.
