The Virginia Tech football team is wearing a repeat uniform again this week, breaking out a fan favorite. The Hokies will take the field against Miami on Saturday wearing all maroon with matte maroon helmets. [embed][/embed] This marks the fourth time the Hokies have broken out the matte maroon helmets this season and just the second time the team will wear all maroon uniforms. The Hokies are 1-2 in games wearing the matte helmets, defeating Florida State in the season opener before losing to Notre Dame and Pitt. Virginia Tech is 0-1 while wearing all maroon this season, with the loss coming against Notre Dame. I personally like the choice of uniforms for this weekend’s game, and it’s fitting considering the game against Miami is the maroon effect game. With the team losing three games in a row, the fans need something to look forward to, and these uniforms are always a crowd-pleaser. When the Hokies run into Lane Stadium to face one of their most bitter rivals, you can bet the crowd will get fired up to see the all maroon uniform combination. Fans will get a chance to see these uniforms again when Virginia Tech kicks off against Miami at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
