Over the past few months, three-star Floridian Marvin Scott III has emerged as one of Virginia Tech's top running backs targets in the 2020. Fortunately for the Hokies, Scott's has quite a lot of interest in Virginia Tech as well.
Scott told us that Virginia Tech will make his top 3 when he trims down his list which is likely to come sometime next month.
So why is Scott set on including the Hokies in his top 3?
"Virginia Tech has a really nice coaching staff, they are great academically, and the atmosphere on game days is amazing. I see VT doing big things," Scott said.
The even better news for the Hokies is that Scott mentioned three specific factors for what will help him make his final decision; "the coaching staff, academics, and atmosphere," all of which Scott has plenty of praise for at the moment.
Not only are the Hokies among those at the top of his recruitment, but Scott says that Virginia Tech is the school he feels is recruiting him the hardest.
Looking ahead to the summer, Scott is planning on making his first trip to Virginia Tech along with visiting in-state Group of 5 power UCF. Scott also hinted that he plans to visit at least one other school in the near future, but didn't mention any specifics beyond that.
Scott has proven himself to be a talented running back with an offer list to back it up as teams from all five Power 5 conferences have extended him offers. Additionally, Scott has a solid 11 Power 5 offers including Michigan, Kentucky, Nebraska, West Virginia, and more in addition to the Hokies.
Virginia Tech has made Marvin Scott III a top priority, and it's made a major difference with Scott having the Hokies in the top group on his list.
