Outside of the quarterback position, Virginia Tech has rarely done much recruiting outside of their 'footprint' on the high school front unless there are clear connections. One of those exceptions to the rule is four-star DL Ezekiel Ayangbile from Houston who is the son of former VT Pro Bowl OL Duane Brown and former VT standout thrower Ciera Ayangbile. His grandfather also went to Virginia Tech and is a very successful research scientist.
With that type of VT connection, it makes a ton of sense for the Hokies to pursue him and the good news is that the Hokies are already in good standing in his recruitment.
