The Hokies have played seven games so far this season with all but one being at noon, 3:30 or 4 pm This 3:30 kickoff will be the third for the Hokies this season, joining the Miami and North Carolina games.
After week nine's football games, the Hokies are a half game behind Virginia and North Carolina with the Hokies having the same number of ACC losses as UVA, UNC, and Pittsburgh.
While the game against Wake Forest does not have a direct impact on the Coastal Division standings, a win against the Demon Deacons would keep the Hokies in control of their own destiny in the Coastal.
A win over Wake Forest would also have an affect on the ACC's Orange Bowl bid, which, assuming Clemson can make the College Football Playoff, would go to the ACC's second best team. If the Hokies were to defeat the Demon Deacons, they would lemerge as the second best team in the ACC and the new frontrunner to claim that spot
The channel for the game will be decided after the results from week ten's games. Louisville-Miami is the other game that will be shown in the 3:30 window either on ESPN2 or the ACC Network.
