After visiting Blacksburg this weekend, Tennessee transfer Lauren Hurst committed to Virginia Tech, as On3's Talia Goodman reports. She has three seasons of eligibility remaining.

The 6-3 freshman averaged 2.3 ppg this season and was a 4-star recruit out of high school.

The former top-50 high school recruit from Cleveland, Tennessee averaged 2.3 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 0.8 assists in 24 appearances last season for the Lady Vols. Her most significant contribution came in February against Ole Miss when she scored 16 points on 6-for-9 shooting, including 4-for-5 from deep, and grabbed 9 rebounds in 24 minutes.
Hurst's commitment is the first addition to head coach Megan Duffy's roster since the departure of All-American forward Carys Baker and point guard Mackenzie Nelson to the transfer portal.
