After only a semester at West Virginia, Maryland native and former three-star OL Gavin Crawford has announced that he is transferring to Virginia Tech.
Crawford is the second spring transfer addition for the Hokies along with NDSU DT Kody Huisman. Since he was only at WVU this spring, Crawford has four years of eligibility remaining plus a redshirt. Because of that, it may be more fair to consider him the third OL HS signee for the 2025 class along with three-star OT Carter Stallard and three-star OL Nathaniel Wright.
Crawford is also the fourth offensive lineman who has followed WVU OL coach Matt Moore to Virginia Tech along with All-Big 12 OL Tomas Rimac, OL Kyle Altuner, and OT Lucas Austin. Rimac will start this fall and projects at right tackle as of now while Altuner will likely be the starting center and Austin is on track to crack the two-deep at tackle.
While it’s very safe to assume Crawford will redshirt this fall, adding Crawford is another solid addition to improve the long term depth of the offensive line room, especially after signing only two high school offensive linemen in December.
