The Virginia Tech Hokies recently did some evaluations of junior college players offering a pair of offensive tackles in TJ Bradley and Chase Brown, both Virginia natives. Both tackles appear to be high on the Hokies’ board on the offensive line.
The good news is that the Hokies are off to solid starts for both especially for Brown.
JUCO OT Chase Brown has seen his recruitment get going over the past 10 days with Virginia Tech offering him first followed by Cincinnati, Minnesota, TCU, and UCF. However, despite only recently getting his first 5 offers, Brown already has a leader in his recruitment.
Chase Brown told us that Virginia Tech is the leader in his recruitment over his other four offers. The Ashburn, Virginia native told us that he’s been primarily in contact with Vance Vice while also saying that he hopes to visit VT over the summer with his hopes being to make a decision during his JUCO season.
VT has been among those recruiting Brown the hardest along with Minnesota and UCF plus Maryland who hasn’t offered yet. However, Minnesota, TCU, Cincinnati, and UCF may have some issues with Brown having a lot of interest in staying close to home telling,us that it’ll have a “pretty big impact” on his decision along with emphasizing how he wants his family to “be able to come to my games”, something that definitely helps VT and Maryland if they choose to offer.
Virginia Tech’s return to the top 25 stood out for him in receiving a Hokies’ offer along with VT being the first to offer Brown. Justin Fuente’s first-year success definitely appears to be catching the eyes of recruits with Brown likely not being the only one who has been impressed by Virginia Tech’s quick rise under Fuente.
For now, Virginia Tech is undoubtedly the favorite for Brown with the Hokies making, him and,his teammate TJ Bradley priorities for their offensive line class. VT has brought in a JUCO offensive line once already since Justin Fuente arrived in Demetri Moore but the Hokies have their eyes set on a JUCO linemen this time including Brown with VT getting in first.
While Minnesota and TCU are definitely intriguing power 5 offers to keep an eye on, Maryland seems like the biggest potential threat to VT at this point with the Terps being close to home and looking to make more of a dent in the DMV. However, that’s all only, speculation at this point with the Terps having not offered Brown yet.
Virginia Tech is off to a strong start with Chase Brown taking an early for a JUCO OT that appears to be one of the Hokies’ top offensive line targets.
