Virginia Tech Jumps Into Top Group For Recently-Offered Three-Star CB Tanner Ingle

Belk bowl entrance 1
The Virginia Tech Hokies are looking to bring in a large group of defensive backs in the Class of 2018 with the Hokies having 2 DBs already committed and VT hoping to end up with 6-7 DBs in this class after only bringing in three in the 2017 class. The Hokies are casting a wide net and putting a greater priority on cornerbacks now with safeties Chamarri Conner and Nasir Peoples committed. One of those players is Orlando three-star CB Tanner Ingle who recently got offered by the Hokies and already has Virginia Tech high on his list. Tanner Ingle told us that he has a top group of Virginia Tech, Boston College, and Syracuse from his lengthening list of offers that also includes NC State, Wake Forest, Maryland, Washington State, Rutgers, East Carolina, USF, Memphis, and others. Ingle has not been rated by most sites yet though Rivals currently has Ingle as a three-star cornerback. It is impressive to see the Hokies jumping into Ingle's top group as quickly as they have after offering the Orlando native with Ingle telling us that he wasn't expecting to receive a VT offer "as soon as I did." Ingle also said that the reason for VT, BC, and Syracuse standing out is because of "the caliber of those programs along with the relationship I have with the coaches." While the Hokies did only offer Ingle recently, there is already a strong relationship with Ingle saying that his relationship with the VT coaching is "good, they tell me how it is are are very honest." The fact that the Hokies already have the trust of Ingle along with confidence from him that they will be honest with him is a great sign for the Hokies in their hopes for getting Ingle. The Hokies also will get some help from signee Robert Porcher IV in their pursuit of Ingle with the duo being teammates previously and Ingle telling us that Porcher has been talking to Ingle about the Hokies "everyday." While Ingle said that Porcher being in Blacksburg won't affect his decision "much at all", the fact that someone that knows Ingle well in Porcher is contacting Ingle everyday about Virginia Tech will only help the Hokies in their push for the Orlando CB. The Hokies have continued to make Florida a high priority on the recruiting trail under Justin Fuente with VT already having one commit from the Sunshine State in the Class of 2018 with DB Chamarri Conner along with VT having some history of finding some hidden gems in Florida. Tanner Ingle will be a player to keep an eye on as his recruitment begins to take off with the Hokies joining his recruitment and quickly becoming a top contender for the three-star Orlando cornerback in what is currently an ACC battle.
