The Virginia Tech Hokies added six commits in the month of June, but VT has the potential to make July just as good with plenty of top targets committing early in June along with a couple of four-star targets who may commit in the latter of the month. Today, the first top target made his decision and got the Hokies off to a great start. https://twitter.com/alan_tisdale/status/881318231742525440 Three-star linebacker Alan Tisdale from Greensboro, NC announced that he has committed to Virginia Tech today. The Greensboro native is 15th commit for the Hokies along with being VT's fifth North Carolina commit and third from Greensboro along with four-star WR Tre Turner and three-star CB DJ Crossen. Tisdale is also the Hokies' first linebacker commit this cycle after signing four linebackers in the previous recruiting cycle. Tisdale is another great get for the #NC2VT movement as Tisdale is ranked as a four-star by Rivals and three-star by other recruiting rankings with Rivals having him as the 13th best North Carolina recruit, ESPN ranking him 22nd, 247 Sports ranking him 17th, and the 247 Sports Composite ranking him 15th. Tisdale is also a top OLB that is the 19th best OLB according to Rivals, 37th best by ESPN, 28th best by 247 Sports, and 29th best by the 247 Sports Composite. Tisdale also has a great offer list that includes Virginia Tech, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Louisville, West Virginia, North Carolina, Mississippi State, NC State, Washington State, Maryland, Purdue, Syracuse, Wake Forest, and East Carolina. Tisdale is another great get for the Hokies and Charley Wiles with Wiles having an impressive year on the recruiting trail and proving to be one of the top recruiters across America so far this cycle. This is turning into the best cycle that Wiles has had in his career on the recruiting trail and shows how great recruiters aren't just young, 30-year old assistants. After Payton Wilson committed to North Carolina, Tisdale became the Hokies' only outside linebacker target on the recruiting trail with VT quickly seizing control in his recruitment and seeming as the clear favorite for Tisdale for the past several weeks. Tisdale has the skill set and size to play either backer or whip linebacker for the Hokies with that versatility being quite useful especially with VT's two other main LB targets (Dax Hollifield, Keshon Artis) projecting primarily as mike linebackers at this point. Alan Tisdale is another great get for the Hokies that gives the #NC2VT movement even more momentum and completes the VT takeover of Greensboro with the 2018 class.
