Virginia Tech among 5 standing out for Katron Evans.

Five Standing Out For Elite 2021 DT Katron Evans Including Virginia Tech

National Signing Day for the Class of 2021 is still more than 2.5 years away, but what’s already becoming clear is that 757 DT Katron Evans will be one of the top recruits on the East Coast. The Norfolk, VA defensive tackle already has 6 power 5 offers with more likely to come.

Right now, Evans has five schools standing out for him including Virginia Tech.

Katron Evans told us that Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Florida State, and Virginia are currently standing out in his recruitment. Why are the Hokies among the five schools currently standing out for Evans?

“You can’t forget about the first school to offer you, and that’s actually my favorite college football team,” Evans told us.

Evans also said that Virginia Tech was a dream offer for him in his recruitment in addition to that offer coming from his favorite college football team. The fact that the Hokies are Evans’ favorite college football team is something that likely should help VT throughout his recruitment.

The Hokies are recruiting Evans as a defensive tackle, and he already has great size for a high school freshman at 6’4” and 265 pounds according to 247 Sports. Evans made a visit to Virginia Tech this past fall while taking visits to Florida State and Tennessee in recent weeks this spring.

Looking ahead, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Evans take a visit to Virginia Tech in the not-too-distant future while he is also looking to make trips to Michigan and Virginia sometime in the coming weeks.

Katron Evans is going to be one of the most heavily-recruited defensive lineman in the 2021, and Virginia Tech is off to a strong start. However, there is still a long, long ways to go in his recruitment.

Katron Evans’ Offer List

  • ACC: Virginia Tech, Florida State, Virginia
