The Hokies had a few high priority targets on campus for the big official visit weekend, giving them a great chance to build on that momentum which is exactly what they have done.

Three-star athlete Bryce Watts from Toms River, New Jersey announced that he has committed to the Virginia Tech Hokies while on an official in Blacksburg. Watts' commitment comes less than a week after he decommitted from Rutgers, which was a big indication that he would likely end up in Blacksburg.
Bryce Watts has a solid offer list that includes Virginia Tech, Rutgers, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Purdue, Boston College, Kansas, Old Dominion, Buffalo, and Monmouth. Watts is rated as a three-star by the 247 Sports Composite, Rivals, and ESPN while 247 Sports has him as a two-star with the 247 Sports Composite ranking him as the 31st best recruit in the state of New Jersey.
Watts is listed as an athlete but he will be most likely be at cornerback for the Hokies with there being a good chance that he will redshirt though definitely the opportunity to earn some playing time among what will be a young group of backup cornerbacks after Brandon Facyson, Greg Stroman, and Adonis Alexander.
Brian Mitchell has been the primary recruiter for the Hokies as Mitchell and Virginia Tech have done a great job in making a big push to get him to flip from Rutgers to Virginia Tech. Mitchell being the primary recruiter is also another sign that Watts will be a cornerback for the Hokies though Mitchell is also Virginia Tech's primary recruiter for many New Jersey recruits.
Congrats to Bryce Watts on his commitment to Virginia Tech.
