Four-Star ATH James Graham Flips From Virginia Tech to Georgia Tech

Cadet 5
After the first of the three Early Signing Days, Virginia Tech had only two commits unsigned in four-star ATH James Graham and three-star DT Cam Goode. While there aren't any major concerns surrounding Goode, there were concerns about Graham especially after he took an official visit to Georgia Tech last weekend. Today, those concerns became reality. https://twitter.com/GeorgiaTechFB/status/944241997270933510 Four-star ATH James Graham flipped his commitment from Virginia Tech to in-state Georgia Tech. The four-star athlete will play quarterback for the Yellow Jackets and leaves the Hokies with 24 commits, 23 of whom have signed. This is a disappointing loss for the Hokies, especially after it looked like Graham wasn't going to sign during this window, giving VT time to try to keep him in the fold. Instead, the Hokies may have to deal with Graham on the field in the next few years with Graham possibly running the show at QB for the Yellow Jackets in the not too distant future. However, this was a hard challenge for the Hokies to try to keep the four-star athlete. The Hokies were pursuing Graham as a wide receiver while the Yellow Jackets were pursuing at a position he clearly had more interest in playing, quarterback, no matter the offense. Throw in the fact that Georgia Tech had the in-state advantage and that made this an extremely difficult task for the Hokies that proved to be too much. Going forward, don't expect Virginia Tech to send out more offers to try to replace that scholarship spot in this class. With numbers already being tight, we're expecting that the Hokies focus now will be on four recruits: Dax Hollifield, Javontae Jean-Baptiste, Anthony Grant, and VT commit Cam Goode.
