Edinboro Wrestler Billy Miller Transfers to Virginia Tech

VT Wrestling Entrance
Last week, news broke that Virginia Tech's starting heavyweight wrestler Andrew Dunn has left the Hokies' wrestling program, creating an opening at the heavyweight class. However, the Hokies have found a replacement for him. https://twitter.com/NHPreps/status/1004023234482892800 Edinboro heavyweight wrestler Billy Miller announced that he is transferring to Virginia Tech for his senior season. Miller is a three-time NCAA Qualifier and two-time EWL heavyweight champion. This past season, Miller earned the 13th overall seed at the NCAA Championships. Billy Miller picked up some strong wins outside of his conference in 2018 beating NC State's Michael Boykin at the NCAA Championships and taking down the Hokies' own Andrew Dunn when VT and Edinboro faced off in January. This is a great addition for VT as Miller will likely be a top 10 heavyweight wrestler to start next season and a top contender for the ACC heavyweight title. In addition, Miller is one of the top national title contenders in a weight class that has lost five of the top 6 NCAA finishers to graduation. Miller's addition also creates an interesting competition at 197 between Bucknell grad transfer Tom Sleigh and promising redshirt freshman John Borst after rumors suggested Borst might move up to heavyweight before Miller's decision according to The Open Mat. However, having this type of talent and competition at the upperweights is something that Tony Robie won't be complaining about whatsoever. After a strong 2017-18 season, VT is building a dangerous lineup for the 2018-19 with Billy Miller being one of the best transfer additions in collegiate wrestling.
