2020 Three-Star ATH LaMareon James Plans to Visit Virginia Tech This Fall

Fan 2
Weeks after participating in a Virginia Tech satellite camp in the 757, 2020 three-star ATH LaMareon James earned an offer from the Hokies. Now, the three-star athlete has a few schools he plans to visit this fall as he recently told us. James plans to visit Virginia Tech, Michigan, and Notre Dame this fall with the Fighting Irish being the closest school to joining his offer list. James currently doesn't have any specific dates for a visit but whenever he does visit the Hokies, it will be his first trip to Blacksburg. He also added that when he gets to Blacksburg, he is hoping to see "the academic support and all the facilities on campus." James told us that all of his offers are on equal standing at the moment with each of his offers equally recruiting him. However, that may change soon with the restrictions that will be lifted on 2020 recruiting on September 1st. James is an intriguing prospect as a versatile offensive player who can work out of the slot or the backfield. Previously, James has told us that he considers himself a Tavon Austin-type player due largely to the versatility and speed that he brings to the table. That type of versatile, speedy slot receiver is the type of slot wideout that Justin Fuente looks for especially with how he'll use his slot receivers on jet sweeps and other flexible ways. James also believes he would be a "good" fit in the Hokies' offense, and he "likes how they use their WRs." LaMareon James has emerged as one of the top 2020 recruits in the 757 with Virginia Tech set to host him on campus for the first time this fall.
