Virginia Tech’s bounce back win over Syracuse on Saturday night wasn’t enough to keep the Hokies in the top 10 of the latest AP Poll, but it did stop them from falling too far. Tech came in at No. 12 in this week’s poll, just two spots below last week’s ranking. The Hokies fell on the road to UNC on Monday, losing the game 103-82. The outlook for this week’s ranking looked bleak, but fortunately for Tech, it was able to bounce back against Syracuse. The Hokies rebounded with a dominant 78-56 win over the Orange. Justin Robinson had a career game, setting multiple school records in the victory. The ranking keeps the Hokies in the top 15 along with four other ACC schools. No. 2 Duke, No. 3 Virginia and No. 9 North Carolina are all ranked in the top 10. Louisville comes in three spots behind Tech at No. 15. No. 23 NC State and No. 25 Florida State round out the ranked ACC squads this week. Tech will have a couple of tough tests coming up. The Hokies travel to Miami on Wednesday before going on the road to NC State on Saturday. They’ll follow that up with another top 25 matchup on Feb. 4 at Louisville.
