Coastal Carolina OL Transfer Brock Hoffman Set to Visit Virginia Tech Soon

VT Fans 1 1
The transfer portel taketh and the transfer portel giveth. For Virginia Tech, the transfer portel has mostly taken players headlined by the transfers decisions of Josh Jackson and Eric Kumah. However, the Hokies may look to add at least one transfer in Coastal Carolina OL Brock Hoffman. https://twitter.com/BrockHoffman76/status/1089340194191540231 The Hokies are currently one of four schools to have extended scholarship offers to Hoffman along with Tulane, Appalachian State, and Charlotte. Hoffman is also expected to be eligible immediately pending a waiver from the NCAA. Of his four offers, Virginia Tech is the only power 5 team to offer Hoffman which meant a lot to the interior lineman. "It meant a lot!! Very humbling and shows how much work I’ve put in over the years," Hoffman says about receiving a power 5 opportunity. Looking ahead, Hoffman told us that he plans to take a visit to Virginia Tech sometime "in the next couple of weeks." Currently, the Hokies are the only visit Hoffman has scheduled. Beyond that, Hoffman currently doesn't have a timeline for making a decision but also said that he is looking at making a decision "soon." So what will the key factors be when Hoffman makes his decision? "Somewhere that I fit in with players wise, relationship with position coach, somewhere that can get me best prepared for the next level," Hoffman said. Whatever team Hoffman does choose will be getting an offensive lineman with lots of experience as Hoffman started all 12 games at center his freshman season followed by a full season of starts at right guard as a sophomore this past season. That experience would be valuable at Virginia Tech especially with right guard being open after the graduation of Braxton Pfaff. The Hokies do have Zachariah Hoyt returning at center, but Vance Vice isn't afraid of having competition, and Hoffman, along with redshirt freshman John Harris, would give VT just that. Hoffman's versatility is also a plus on an offensive line that saw Kyle Chung start at almost every position along with guys like Tyrell Smith have the versatility to play at tackle and on the interior. Virginia Tech has seen multiple players choose to leave Blacksburg and enter the transfer portel. However, the Hokies are looking to finally get some positive news from the transfer portel as they pursue Coastal Carolina OL transfer Brock Hoffman.
