Wofford's Mike Young Reportedly Set to Become Virginia Tech Basketball's Head Coach

VT Band First Round
After days of rumors and speculation surrounding Virginia Tech involving coaches like Seton Hall's Kevin Willard and UMBC's Ryan Odom, the Hokies appear to have found their next head coach in Wofford's Mike Young. https://twitter.com/GoodmanHoops/status/1114992670978576384 https://twitter.com/jeffborzello/status/1115003453275873281 https://twitter.com/JonRothstein/status/1115011546428710914 Stadium's Jeff Goodman is reporting that Young is set to become the Hokies' next head coach unless something drastic changes while ESPN's Jeff Borzello has confirmed that Virginia Tech is in negotiations with Young and CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein believes both sides are close to a deal with a potential announcement coming tonight. In 17 seasons at the helm of Wofford, Young has a 299-244 record during his tenure that started in Wofford's sixth year as a Division I program. Over the past 10 seasons, Young has led Wofford to 5 NCAA Tournament appearances, 4 Southern Conference regular season titles, 5 Southern Conference Tournament titles, and 6 20-win seasons despite having some of the worst resources and facilities in the Southern Conference, one of the better mid-major conferences, til within the past year. Young is a Southwest Virginia native having been born in Radford, VA while going to college at Emory & Henry. Additionally, Young was an assistant at E&H and Radford before starting his long career at Wofford as an assistant.
