Virginia Tech's spring practice ended with starting QB Kyron Drones missing the final few practices due to an injury. The timing wasn't exactly ideal given the fact that Drones was also transitioning into a new offense being installed by new offensive coordinator Philip Montgomery.
Since then, no further updates regarding Drones' injury had been provided until Wednesday when I sat down for exclusive one-on-one interviews with head coach Brent Pry and offensive coordinator Philip Montgomery. During my conversation with Pry, he shared the following update regarding Drones' status.
"His injury, he's made tremendous progress. He's right on schedule. They expect for him to be fully cleared for everything come mid-June," Pry said.
