With recruiting happening earlier in the cycle than ever before, we have also entered an era where decommitments and flips happen at a rate unlike anything we've previously seen in college football. It's an inevitable consequence of having recruits committed longer than we've ever seen, allowing more time for coaches to stay in the era of players and another season of games to have an impact as well.
While some programs have thrived off flips, there have been plenty of programs over the years who have seen flips greatly hurt their classes and damage their on-field performance. Virginia Tech has seen both sides of it over recent coaching tenures but under Brent Pry, the Hokies have become one of the most commit-loyal programs in America.
To determine this, I evaluated the first full cycle of the Brent Pry era (2023) through the current recruiting cycle (2026) to see how many decommits each Power 4 program in America has based on 247 Sports' data. I will note that I did not factor in whether those players had recommitted to said program at a later date.
Based on that evaluation, I found that only seven programs have had fewer than 10 decommitments during that timespan. Those seven programs are listed below in order from the national leader to the last program to make the cut.
