Four-star ATH Kamarro Edmonds has emerged as one of the most talented 2021 recruits in the state of North Carolina with an impressive list of suitors. Recently, Edmonds trimmed his list down to a top 8 that included some very good news for Virginia Tech.

The Hokies are among five ACC teams to make the top 8 for Kamarro Edmonds along with North Carolina, Louisville, Wake Forest, and N.C. State. Additionally, three SEC teams, all in the SEC East, made the cut for Edmonds in Tennessee, South Carolina, and Missouri.

Edmonds had this to say about why he chose these 8 schools.

"Out of all the schools that offered me, these 8 checked the most boxes for me. They all bring some of the same but also something different, so now I want to focus on narrowing them down and picking which one fits me best," Edmonds said.

As Edmonds mentioned, there were some commonalities with all 8 schools, but also some differences. Edmonds gave us some insight into why Virginia Tech made his top 8 specifically mentioning his relationship with VT head coach Justin Fuente and how hard the Hokies are recruiting him.

"They are one of the schools that are really recruiting me hard. I have a good relationship with Coach Fuente, and I really felt like it was a place I could see myself when I went to visit," Edmonds said.

Edmonds previously visited during the season for a Virginia Tech game and left extremely impressed with the atmosphere while also building a stronger relationship with Justin Fuente. Additionally, Edmonds told us last month that the Hokies were among four schools currently standing out in his recruitment, a great indication about how the Hokies are emerging as a top contender while making him a top priority of theirs.

Looking ahead, Kamarro Edmonds told us that he will be visiting Virginia Tech for their upcoming Junior Day on March 1st. After that, Edmonds plans on visiting Tennessee on March 7th and Louisville on March 21st. The Hokies are the lone school that Edmonds previously mentioned in January as being among the schools currently standing out with a March visit scheduled while Louisville and Tennessee could have major opportunities to make a big move.

One of the other notable things about Edmonds is that he is a talented running back and defensive back who could play either position in college. While some schools may be recruiting him at one position or the other, the Hokies see Edmonds as a potential star on both sides and are recruiting him as an athlete who could play either position in college should he choose Tech.

Keep an eye on Kamarro Edmonds as he remains a top target for Virginia Tech with the Hokies gaining serious traction in his recruitment.
