Virginia Tech hosted an impressive group of recruits for their game against Notre Dame including 2023 four-star OT Brycen Sanders who definitely enjoyed his visit to Blacksburg.
Sanders told us that his visit to Tech was "very good" due in large part to the fact that "the fans and the atmosphere were electric" on Saturday night. He added this about what he did during his time in Blacksburg for the game against Notre Dame.
"I got to see some of the facilities, then we went to the indoor to eat and talk to the coaches, then we went on the field for pregame," Sanders said.
Unsurprisingly, the environment inside Lane Stadium was what stood out most for the Hokies during his visit.
"The fans mainly; Enter Sandman was super cool, and they were loud the whole game," Sanders said.
Brycen Sanders also got to meet offensive line coach Vance Vice for the first time in person with his conversation with Vice going quite well as he described to us.
"It was good, it was my first time meeting him in person. He told me they watched my film as a staff and they really like me," Sanders said.
Sanders also spoke with offensive recruiting coordinator Adam Lechtenberg who is also Tech's primary recruiter in Tennessee with those conversations going quite well also.
"It was good. I’ve talked to him a lot before because he recruits my area, but it was nice to see him in person," Sanders said.
Overall, Sanders had this to say about this visit impacted his recruitment and Virginia Tech's standing in it.
"It was great to visit VT in person, and I’ll definitely be looking at them hard in my recruitment," Sanders said.
Looking ahead, Sanders told us that he is visiting Tennessee this weekend with trips to Ohio State, Auburn, Ole Miss, and Arkansas all on the schedule ahead. For now, Virginia Tech has positioned themselves well early for Brycen Sanders who is clearly a top 2023 offensive line target in Blacksburg.
