Virginia Tech continues to load up in the trenches during the spring transfer portal window, landing a commitment this evening from Georgia Southern DT Elhadj Fall.
Fall chose the Hokies over lots of interested schools including BYU, where he was scheduled to visit this past weekend. He is the fourth transfer addition for the Hokies this spring joining North Dakota State DT Kody Huisman, West Virginia OL Gavin Crawford, and Hawaii CB Caleb Brown.
He heads to Virginia Tech after playing 360+ snaps each of the past two seasons, during which he had 39 tackles including 10 for loss with 6.5 sacks. The 6’4’’, 280-pound Fall also had 32 pressures over the past two seasons per PFF, fitting the mold of a J.C. Price that can also get after the quarterback and not just be a run stuffer and space eater.
Fall is a very solid addition for the Hokies and will immediately be able to battle Kemari Copeland, Huisman, Arias Nash, and Emmett Laws for reps in general, but also for the second starting DT job next to Kelvin Gilliam. The addition of Fall gives the Hokies a legitimate three-deep at defensive tackle that will create fascinating competition during fall camp and a strong safety net even if injuries pop up.
Fall also helps build a strong 2026 defensive tackle core for the Hokies along with Copeland and Laws.
