Hokies QB Commit Dylan Wittke Recaps Virginia Tech Official Visit

Dylan Wittke VT Official June 10 Weekend

Virginia Tech not only had loads of talented uncommitted recruits on campus last weekend, but they also had a talented commit of theirs in three-star QB Dylan Wittke who also enjoyed his VT official while doing some recruiting of his own.

"It was great getting back on campus. Meeting some of the recruits and hanging out with the players was definitely a highlight for me. Everything about my official just made me and my family love VT even more," Wittke said.

Wittke also expanded on what made this a great visit for him.

"Really getting to spend time with the coaches and the players that I’m going to be with for the next 3-4 years," Wittke said.

So what was the itinerary of his official visit to Blacksburg?

"We went bowling and out to eat, hung out with the players in the dorms and apartments, talked ball with the coaches and took probably the best recruiting pictures in the nation," Wittke said.

Wittke specifically spent lots of time with the three coaches you would expect him to: head coach Brent Pry, offensive coordinator Tyler Bowen, and QBs coach/pass game coordinator Brad Glenn. He had this to say about his time and conversations with Pry.

"It was really good. Coach Pry is such a down to earth and approachable person. We talked a lot about me being the leader of this class," Wittke said.

Here's what Wittke had to say about his time with Tyler Bowen.

"It was good. Coach Bowen is a great guy and has a great offensive mind. So I’m ready to see how he gets the offense going!" Wittke said.

Wittke's time with Brad Glenn also went well with it going beyond just him but also his family as he shared with us.

"It was really good. We talked a good bit about the offense and the language they use, but it was even better when I wasn’t around. My parents said they hit it off with coach Glenn’s family and they love how the entire coaching staff shows the love for their families," Wittke said.

That family atmosphere was also what stood out the most to Dylan Wittke during his visit.

"Really how much family means to them. The entire visit just made me and my parents proud that I made such a great decision to attend VT," Wittke said on what stood out the most during his visit.

So how did this visit impact Wittke's view of Virginia Tech?

"It really helped me dive deeper into the culture of the program, and it showed me just how great of a decision I made!" Wittke said.

Wittke has also embraced "being the leader of this class" as he discussed with Brent Pry with Wittke telling us that he was definitely recruiting other recruits that were there including three-star OL Kamen Smith, three-star ATH Thomas Williams, three-star LB/ATH Jordan Bass, and three-star S/LB Caleb Woodson.

So what was Wittke's message for those guys?

"It was really just letting them know that with Coach Pry at the head of this, VT is a great spot for us to be. Especially our class being his first at VT. And honestly, the rest of the visit spoke for itself. Hopefully soon we should be excepting some more commits," Wittke said.

Wittke also isn't planning on being done with his in-person recruiting in Blacksburg with plans to take an unofficial visit next weekend to try to get some of those official visitors to jump in with the Hokies.

Dylan Wittke may already be committed, but his official visit made him even more pleased with his commitment to Virginia Tech while also stepping more into a recruiting role as Tech's lone QB commit this recruiting cycle.
