In-State ATH Brody Jones Recaps "Incredible" Virginia Tech Visit for BC Game

Brody Jones VT BC 2022

Virginia Tech has hosted loads of talented recruits over the past couple weekends including 2023 ATH Brody Jones out of Bristol, VA for the BC game with the Hokies impressing Jones on his latest trip to Blacksburg as he shared with us.

"It was incredible! The energy was crazy! The whole experience was first class," Jones said.

He gave us some insight on what he did during his time at Virginia Tech.

"I got to experience the Hokie Walk then headed to the recruit tailgate. Ate some awesome wings and spoke to Coach (Jeron Gouveia-) Winslow and Brian Crist. Got to jump to Enter Sandman for the first time ever. The energy of the crowd was so powerful. Just awesome man!" Jones said.

So how was his time and conversations with offensive analyst Brian Crist?

"It was cool. I’ve always had a good connection with him because his brother used to be my high school football coach. He said the coaches talk about me a lot which was exciting to hear. I’m still trying to earn a scholarship offer so that was encouraging," Jones said.

He added this on how his time with defensive analyst Jeron Gouveia-Winslow went.

"I talked to him for a while. We talked about how my season was going and how he was feeling about the game," Jones said.

As Jones mentioned, he is actively working to earn a scholarship offer though the Hokies have extended him a preferred walk-on opportunity. He shared an update on where he feels he's at in terms of trying to earn an offer from Tech.

"They’ve offered me a PWO. My film gets better every week. I’m learning a new position. Coach (Brent) Pry said he should know within my first couple games if I had what it takes to play linebacker. Hopefully I am proving that," Jones said.

So how did this visit impact his view of Virginia Tech?

"I just love it! It feels like home, and it’s close to my home. All the coaches make me feel very comfortable," Jones said.

Keep an eye on Brody Jones as the Hokies continue to impress him with the Bristol, VA standout hoping to earn a VT offer.
