C.J. McCray sat out this past season at Marshall due to academic relations and will have a full four years of eligibility remaining. McCray will likely be a linebacker for the Hokies though Tech did discuss with him being a linebacker-safety combination.
He is the fifth transfer addition of the offseason for the Hokies joining Clemson DT Jordan Williams, Vanderbilt S Tae Daley, Maryland C Johnny Jordan, and Texas A&M QB Connor Lee Blumrick.
During his recruitment, McCray had previously confirmed that he did also receive an offer from Western Kentucky while also receiving interest from South Carolina, Boston College, Wake Forest, and East Carolina.
We will have more as this story develops.
