With ACC play starting this weekend, Virginia Tech had to release an ACC-mandated injury/player status report this evening, the first they've had to release this fall. While there were some injured players this report provides updates on, there were also a few players with a redshirt available who will be out this week again and are on transfer watch at this point.
The #Hokies don't have players in the transfer portal listed as out for Saturday's game at N.C. State.

The list is headlined by two of Virginia Tech's most talented young starters in S Quentin Reddish and LB Caleb Woodson, neither of whom are injured. At this point, it seems likely that Reddish and Woodson are heading for the transfer portal especially with both of them having a redshirt available.
Jordan Bass is a strong candidate to start in place of Reddish while Michael Short and Jaden Keller are likely to be the starting LB duo with Woodson out.
S Sherrod Covil Jr also has a redshirt available to him and is out for the second-straight week as he seems likely heading for a redshirt and transfer situation. Meanwhile, S Christian Ellis appears to be back this week after not playing against Wofford, raising concerns about a potential redshirt and transfer situation for him.
CB Caleb Brown also may be a redshirt and transfer guy given his past history while DL James Jennette is a surprise addition to the list, especially since it doesn't seem like he has an injury and he doesn't have any more eligibility currently. TE Harrison Saint Germain also is a head-scratcher that could be more of an injury situation given the heavy usage of Ja'Ricous Hairston as Benji Gosnell's backup in recent weeks.
On the offensive line injury front, top backup Brody Meadows remains out but VT may finally be getting healthier in the trenches with starters Johnny Garrett and Layth Ghannam plus backup Jaden Muskrat all being questionable. WR Takye Heath is close to a return after missing a couple games as he is probably this week.
