Virginia Tech made a major splash on the assistant coach carousel hiring West Virginia's Matt Moore as their new offensive line coach after Moore developed three All-Americans and several all-conference linemen during six seasons at WVU. That led to plenty excitement not only among Hokie fans but also among recruits and transfers who are considering the Hokies.
Let's start with four-star OT Carter Scruggs out of Northern Virginia, one of the best overall recruits in Virginia in the 2026 class. He had this to say about his reaction to the Hokies hiring Moore as their new offensive line coach.
"I was really excited because I had a great relationship with him when he was at WVU," Scruggs said.
He added this when asked about how much of an impact this coaching move has on his interest in Virginia Tech.
