Virginia Tech's loaded recruiting weekend wasn't limited to high school standouts as multiple talented JUCO players were there including standout Lackawanna WR Colbie Young whose visit went quite well as he shared on Twitter and with us.
Had an unbelievable time at Virginia tech this past weekend, thank you for the invite and the hospitality!! @TylerBowen @CoachPryVT @Coach_Mines @HokiesFB @lino_lupinetti #HokieNation #Hokies #VirginiaTech pic.twitter.com/8gcwq3VXr7

"It was amazing, loved every second," Young said about how his VT visit went.
He also gave some insight on what his multi-day visit looked like beyond just being at the Spring Game with Young visiting along with four of his teammates.
"We went to McClain's got to see some former players, and also got to see the facilities," Young said.
Despite a busy itinerary that allowed his to get the full Virginia Tech (and Blacksburg) experience, there were a couple of specific that stood out to him and helped make this an "amazing" visit.
"The atmosphere at the game really stood out, and seeing all the great former players was amazing," Young said.
Young spent some time with Virginia Tech offensive coordinator Tyler Bowen with those conversations going well as he told us.
"It was good, he has great knowledge of the game," Young said.
The Hokies are the only FBS offer for Young at the moment (though he has multiple FCS offers), but JUCO recruiting can be wonky at times and Young may be close to landing more offers as he told us he's receiving interest actively from South Carolina, Florida State, and Marshall. He's also previously told us that he has received interest from Penn State, Arkansas, and Colorado so it's clear that he's on the radar for lots of Power 5 schools.
That shouldn't come as a surprise after Young was a touchdown machine in his first JUCO season with 24 catches for 472 yards and 9 touchdowns, averaging 19.7 yards per reception in the process. He's poised to be the primary receiver for Lackawanna this year and given the potential he's shown, Tech getting involved as early they have may prove very advantageous.
So how did this visit impact Young's recruitment and where Virginia Tech stands in it?
"A couple schools have reached out but VT is still the only FBS school that I have an offer from so they’re on top," Young said.
Virginia Tech is in a great spot for Colbie Young early on and though more Power 5 offers seem certain to be coming, the Hokies being in first has set them up quite well.
